Appiah Stadium grovels at the feet of Akufo-Addo; begs for mercy

Popular Kumasi-based NDC serial caller, 'Appiah Stadium' is in deep hot waters after allegedly likening the first gentleman of the land, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to an ape in an audio which has surfaced online.

The acerbic-tongued supporter of ex-President John Dramani Mahama is now pleading for mercy after he was exposed by a top NPP guru, Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori-Atta aka ‘Tomtom’.

Tomtom, who was part of Ghana’s delegation to the US, stated on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, that he would make sure Appiah Stadium is dealt with by the law.

Appiah Stadium was captured in audio circulating pouring sickening invectives on President Nana Addo during his recent visit to the United States.

Provisional results of 2017 WASSCE released by WAEC

 The West African Examination Council has released provisional results of the 2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

According to WAEC, this year’s figures show a slight improvement of last year’s results.

The Council in a statement on Wednesday and signed by Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, said while it is working at dispatching the results to various schools students could also access their results online via the WAEC website.

Two police officers were shot in broad daylight - Lapaz shooting

An eyewitness in the Lapaz shooting incident which saw two police officers gunned down by armed robbers has revealed that the officers were unarmed when the attack took place.

Two police officers were shot in broad daylight at Lapaz in Accra Thursday, July 13. The criminals who were on a robbery mission shot the policemen who tried stopping them by giving them a hot chase on their motorbikes.

Speaking to JoyNews, the witness (name withheld) stated that the police would have been able to counter the attacks but for their defenseless state at the time they were pursuing the suspects.

“I think it would have helped if the policemen had guns also, if they had it in this instance, they would have been able to fight back”.

Inusah Fuseini To Submit Himself To National Security Probe

Former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has promised to submit himself to National Security probe over the planted secret audiovisual device in his former office.

The Tamale Central Lawmaker, who admits he installed the device, indicates that it was meant to enhance his personal security but was not activated prior to his exit from the ministry.

‘Spider-Man’ Starring Abraham Attah Slings $117 Million Debut & Sony Rejoices

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” swung past expectations, opening with an estimated $117 million in North America and giving a Sony Pictures a much needed hit.

“Homecoming” was one of the biggest tests yet for the notion that domestic moviegoers are growing weary of sequels and reboots and suffering so-called “franchise fatigue.” ″Homecoming” kicks off the third “Spider-Man” iteration in the last 15 years, and the second reboot since 2014′s “The Amazing Spider-Man,” with Andrew Garfield.

But Sony has kept Spider-Man airborne. For “Homecoming,” the studio returned to Spider-Man’s teenage roots, casting Tom Holland in the part. Critics and audiences responded, with many calling Jon Watts’ iteration one of the best Spider-Man films.

UEW application was dismissed by Winneba High Court

The Winneba High Court, presided over by His Lordship Justice George Atto-Mills, today [Monday], dismissed a motion for interlocutory injunction on the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba.

On June 16 this year, counsel for the University and the Ministry of Education, Peter Zwennes, prayed the court to dismiss the suit, because in their view, the plaintiff, Supi Kwayera, lacks the capacity to sue the institution.

The counsel again argued that the court also lacks jurisdiction to adjudicate the claims by the plaintiff.
