Felix Kwakye Ofosu Pooh Poohs On Dr Bawumia's Ten-Point Unemployment Plan

Felix Kwakye Ofosu
A Deputy Minister of Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has described as "redundant, vague and speculative" a ten-point plan to curb unemployment espoused by the vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“…when I heard that Dr Bawumia had gone to propose a 10 year plan to solve unemployment, I had looked forward to a plan that was convincing; a plan that would challenge the NDC to come out with proposals that were well thought through and that were feasible in terms of addressing whatever problem exist…to my utter disappointment…only two words describe what Dr Bawumia put forward; infact three: redundant, vague and speculative”

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, outlined a comprehensive ten-point plan to boosting job creation in the country on Tuesday during a Lecture on the topic; ‘High Graduate Unemployment and the Employment Embargo, What is the Solution’ organized by the Economics Students Association of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). But analysing the ten point plan on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji, the Deputy Minister said the NPP has no credibility as far as job creation is concerned; judging from the fact that they have been in power before.

According to him, ‘when it comes to believability and credibility the NPP scores zero’.

“…on the area of job creation; what is the record of the NPP which will inspire confidence...by the time they left office, unemployment had gone through the roof…a review of those so called ten point plan shows that it is no plan at all…it is anything but a plan” he said.
