NPP gov’t will complete University of Ghana Stadium – Isaac Asiamah

Mr. Isaac Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports on Thursday inspected the University of Ghana Sports Stadium to assess its current state.

Mr. Asiamah together with Prof. Emmanuel Oduro Owusu, the Vice Chancellor of the University, had a thorough inspection of the 14-year-old edifice, which is yet to be completed.

Alhaji Bature hit back Rawlings over $5m Gift From A Thief

 Contrary to claims that he received $2 million which was used for a nationalistic project, emerging evidence indicate that that the former President of Ghana received $5 million.

Managing Editor of the Al Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu on Tuesday June 6, 2017 disclosed that the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Jerry John Rawlings received $5 million dollars from Nigerian military leader Sani Abacha, who served as head of state between 1993 and 1998.

Funeral Arrangements for Major Mahama

 The State Protocol Office has outlined details of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama’s funeral service.
A statement from the office indicated that, the deceased will be given a state burial with “full military honours at the Osu Military Cemetery, after a burial service at the Forecourt of the State House.”

The late soldier is to be buried on Friday, June 9th, 2017.

Rawlings' regime was characterized with corruption - Kweku Baako

Seasoned journalist Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has lambasted Ex-President Rawlings for posturing himself as more Catholic than the Pope.

Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Kweku Baako posited that Mr. Rawlings has no moral right to pontificate on corruption in the country.

According to Mr. Baako, the Rawlings' regime was extremely characterized with corruption and the latter himself played active role in this national canker.

Addressing a gathering at the 38th anniversary of June 4 revolution held at Wa in the Upper West on Sunday, the former President blamed his party - the National Democratic Congress - for their humiliating defeat in the 2016 elections.

No new vehicles has been bought, says Nana Oppong

Head of Transport and Logistics at the Presidency Nana Oppong has dispelled claims that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has purchased new luxurious vehicles from Dubai.

Reports are that the Presidency has purchased 56 new presidential vehicles which are yet to be imported to the country.

Many believe the President is just throwing dust in the eyes of the public by instructing his appointees not to buy new cars yet he has.

3 Peoples arrested in Nabdam over lynching of a ‘witch’

 The Upper East Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three persons in connection with the lynching of a 67-year-old woman accused of being a witch.

The deceased, Madam Yenboka Kenna, a widow, was killed at the Pelungu market on Monday, May 29, 2017.


The Regional Police Commander, DCOP Vincent Redeemer, told Citi News that the police cannot prove whether those arrested were directly involved in the lynching, but  they are currently assisting the police in investigation.

He said while conducting the investigations in the village where the incident happened, some young men came in to stop a witness from giving information to the police investigation, hence were picked up.
