My life is in danger - Suspect says

Suspected murderer of former Abuakwa North legislator, Daniel Asiedu has indicated that his life under threat in the police cells where he is being kept.

Daniel Asiedu made this known in court, when he told the magistrate hearing his case that, there was another Nigerian inmate within the cell he is being kept who has constantly been harassing him and threatening to fight him.

The suspect further told the court he constantly has restrained him self from engaging his fellow inmate in any fight due the fact that he had repented and given his life to Christ.

The twenty year old suspect also indicated that after several complains he has been relocated to another police station where he is being kept.



Daniel Asiedu was arrested few days after the murder of JB Danquah who was the member of parliament for the Abuakwa North constituency in his residence at Shiasie in an Accra.

He was charged with murder when arraigned after his arrested and allegedly confessed to stabbing the late MP in his residence which led to his death.

Despite his confessions, another suspect was arrested later as an accomplice who aided him. But the teenager says he entered the MP’s house to steal but not to kill.

According to him, he had to stab the MP who held him tight during a struggle.
