1. M.anifest

Kwame Ametepee Tsikata, popularly known as M.anifest is a songwriter and an internationally acclaimed award-winning Hip Hop artiste. He is the grandson of J.H. Kwabena Nketia, one of Africa’s foremost ethnomusicologists and composers. He is the son of Ghanaian lawyer and a former Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Tsatsu Tsikata.

 His mother, Nana Nketia, is also a lawyer and a pastor at International Central Gospel Church (ICGC).

M.anifest holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Macalester College, a private undergraduate liberal arts college located in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.

He won the best rapper and best Hip-Hop song awards at the 2013 Ghana Music Awards. He is known for songs like Someway Bi, Forget Dem, No shortcut to Heaven among others.

2. Efya

Jane Afia Boafowaa Awindor, known in showbiz as Efya is the daughter of Greetings From Abroad star, Nana Adwoa Awindor. The songstress who saw her dad at age twenty-three due to the many businesses and other engagements of his in Germany holds a degree in Music and Theatre from the University of Ghana.

Efya was adjudged Best Female Vocal Performance for the 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 editions of the Ghana Music Awards. Among her songs are Best In Me, Forgetting Me, Jolie and One of Your Own.

Known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., Bandana rebranded himself to Shatta Wale and released Dancehall King in 2013. He has since then been releasing songs which have kept him in the game. The dancehall artiste is the son of Mr. Charles Mensah who picked forms in 2014 to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ablekuma South Constituency chairmanship slot. His father who doubles as his manager has said that Shatta Wale did not only inherit his name but inherited his attitude as well.

4. Wanlov the Kubolor

Emmanuel Owusu Bonsu, known in showbiz as Wanlov the Kubolor was born to a Romanian mother and a Ghanaian father. Although he was born in Romania, he grew up in Ghana. His parents were into arts and music.

His father, Pastor James Owusu-Bonsu, who is the leader of Awesome Grace Network (AGN), has said that he is proud of him for being a distinctive individual.

 5. Yvonne Okoro

Actress, Yvonne Okoro was born to a Nigerian father and a Ghanaian mother. Her father is a prominent businessman.

Yvonne Okoro had her secondary education at Mfanstiman Girls' Senior High School. She pursued a Bachelor of Arts course in English and Linguistics from the University of Ghana, Legon and later went to University De-Nantes in France to study Press Civilization, Drama and Marketing.

She has starred in movies like Why Marry, The Game and Agony of Christ.

Yvonne Okoro was adjudged the Best Actress at the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards. She has also received four African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Reginald Yaw Asante Ossei, affectionately called Reggie Rockstone was born in the United Kingdom but lived his early years in Ghana. The ‘Godfather of Hiplife’ was born to Ricky “Racci” Osei, popularly known as Saint Osei, a renowned fashion designer.

Reggie Rockstone is not only a musician but also owns Reggie’s Office, a hip hop casual environment.

His albums include Makaa Maka (1997), Me Na Me Kae (1999), Me Ka (2000, Last show (2004) and Reggiestration (2010). He is currently a member of music trio, VVIP.

7. Becca

She is known in private life as Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong. Becca, a songwriter and singer is the fifth of nine children.

Born to Mr. Acheampong, Becca attended Morning Star and Wesley Girls' High School whilst growing up. She became a Child care and education worker after graduating from Croydon College. She spent several years abroad before relocating to Ghana to start her music career.

She has recorded songs like You Lied To Me, Daa Ke Daa and African Woman.

Her song Daa Ke Daa was adjudged Record of the Year at the 2010 Ghana Music Awards. She also won Best Female Vocal Performance.

8. Jackie Appiah

Actress Jackie Appiah is the last of five children. She was born in Canada but moved to Ghana at age 10 where she lived with the mother. Jackie’s father, Kwabena Appiah who resides in Toronto is the younger brother of late renowned lawyer, Joe Appiah.

She has won several awards including Best Actress in Drama for her performance in The Perfect Picture at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards in Lagos, Nigeria.

 9. Shirley Frimpong-Manso

She has produced countless movies and won several awards. Shirley Frimpong-Manso, the founder and CEO of Sparrow Productions hails from Kwahu Pepease in the Eastern region. She is a product of Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School in the Central Region. After completing in 1996, she worked as a presenter at Radio Gold. She later took a degree course at the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) before venturing into movies.

Awards won include Best Director of the Year, African Movie Academy Awards 2010. Her piece, A Sting In A Tale won Audience Favorite-Narrative Feature at the 18th Annual Pan African Film & Arts Festival.

10. John Dumelo

Actor and entrepreneur, John Dumelo is one of Ghana’s most celebrated movie stars. Born to John Dumelo Snr. and Antionette Dumelo, he had his secondary education at Achimota School and further studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he read Civil Engineering.

John won Africa's Most Outstanding Actor 2011 at the Afro Australian Movies and Music Awards in Australia. He also won the Best African Actor Award at the African Entertainment Awards in April 2012 in Malaysia.
