Did Mahama address ‘sarknation or bhimnation’? DKB asks

DKB, Comedian
One of Ghana’s fast-rising and most recognized comedians, DKB, took to social media platform, Twitter, on Thursday, to question President John Dramani Mahama’s State of the Nation address delivered to Parliament.

The President, in his delivery, which is the last in his four-year term, touched on several government social intervention programmes ranging from health, education and the economy.

In providing what he called evidence-based address, he went further to showcase some beneficiaries of the programmes to Parliament.

DKB, in a rather mocking post, wondered which nation the President was addressing especially as he touted a number of achievements his government t had chalked over the years.

DKB suggested in the tweet that the President’s so-called achievements were not visible and that he might have been referring to a different nation instead of the current Ghana.

The tweet said, “#SOTNGhana Saying all this good works but we don’t see it. I wonder the nation he is addressing, sark nation? bhim nation? Or carnation?
Bhim nation is the tag used by Dancehall Artiste Shatta Wale in massing up his following. Sark nation is similarly used by award-winning rapper Sarkodie.

The comment by the comedian with over 18,000 Twitter followers, attracted 47 likes and 119 retweets.

DKB, born Derick Kobina Bonney, also took on the President for not speaking on his government’s support or policy direction for the creative art industry.

He tweeted, “Almost or more than 2 hours of state of nation address but nothing said about creative arts and u expect us to listen to u during elections.”
