Johnson Aseidu Nketia |
According to him, there are reports circulating in the media that the Steering Committee has been dissolved but it's not true because the Commission is rather going to review the Committee.
Speaking in an interview on Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Johnson Asiedu Nketia however expressed concerns over the constitution of the EC's Elections Steering Committee.
He noted that the Steering Committee was unlawfully set up by the Commission.
In his view, the EC should have consulted with the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) before establishing the Committee.
“We have not been properly briefed about the function of the Steering Committee that’s different from IPAC. I expressed concerns that the Steering Committee is unlawful just as the IPAC was unlawfully constituted.”
He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that he couldn't fathom why the Commission failed to discuss its decision for a Steering Committee with the IPAC.
He however commended the EC for heeding to the demands of the parties by reconsidering its decision.
