Herbert Mensah disappointed with GFA for...

Herbert Mensah

Former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah has said it was needless for the Ghana Football Association to bring experts from South Africa to lecture at the Media, Marketing and Sponsorship seminar organised by the Association for Ghana Premier League clubs.

Ace South African journalist Thomas Kwenaite and The Chief Producer of Super Sport TV West Africa, Siboniso Ngubane were the invited experts brought by the GFA to educate participants on how to enhance Ghana football and patronage.

And Herbert Mensah, a football administrator and businessman, says it was not necessary to waste resources to fly them into the country when there are equally qualified persons in Ghana who can do better job.

“It is our country and we know our environment more. I don’t think flying in people from South Africa for this seminar was necessary; I don't think it is the right thing to do,” Herbery Mensah told Atinka FM.

“If it is advice, I don’t think there are any better people to offer advice than the people here in this country.

“I am not sure South Africa would have invited a Ghanaian if it was the reversed situation to lecture. We have people with similar or better competencies to deal with these situations right here in this country and it is sad we are not falling on them.”

The initiative by the Ghana Football Association is a two-day seminar to ensure Ghana football return to its glory days.
