NDC won Amenfi West by-election

The ruling National Democratic Congress (N DC) candidate for Amenfi West constituency, Eric Afful has emerged the winner of the by-election held on Tuesday.

The 41-year old Economist polled 15,806 votes per provisional results in, while his close contender from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Paul Derkyi, 43, a lawyer polled 13,079.

The Amenfi West constituency in the Western Region became vacant following the death of the NDC's Member of Parliament for the area, John Gyetua in October this year.
