Akrobeto reacts to “Guantanamo” movie

Actor, Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto has denied starring in a movie regarding the two Guantanamo bay prisoners who have been transferred to Ghana.

A movie poster “Guantanamofo Wo Krom” has been circulating on various social media platforms since Wednesday.

The said poster had Akrobeto, Rose Mensah (Kyeiwaa) and others as members of the cast. But speaking to Amanda Jissih on Hitz FM’s Showbiz Filla, Akrobeto expressed utmost surprise at the development.

He stated that he has not even heard of the issue of the transfer for him to think of starring in a movie of that kind.

“Who did you say are in town? Who brought them? No, I have no idea about that. I have not shot any movie like that. What is that really about?” he expressed surprise.

Producers of Akan movies are noted for using trending events, personalities and song titles as movie titles. Productions that have hit the market include Osama Bin Laden, Tonga, Yentie Obiaa, Sir John, Castro Amanehunu, Oh Vera, Ayari Cough, Maricruz, Menam Na Metete, Obinim Schwaznager, among others.
