Bawumia - Ministerial Reshuffle “Meaningless”...Mahama Faces "Ultimate Reshuffle" In Nov

 Bawumia
Vice Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has posited that President John Dramani Mahama's ongoing ministerial reshuffle will amount to nothing.

Describing it as "meaningless", the Economist guru maintained the president will himself the "ultimate reshuffle" in a few months time.

“The ongoing reshuffle appears to be one to do with winning an election rather than one aimed at addressing the challenges faced by Ghanaians. In this regard, I am convinced that the ongoing reshuffle by the President will be meaningless. Thankfully, the ultimate Reshuffle will be done on November 7th by the people of Ghana,” he wrote on his Facebook wall.

President John Dramani Mahama made some changes in his administration this week with Mr. Kenneth Wujangi, a Management and Integrated Rural Development Specialist as a Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) at the Flagstaff House.

He also announced Mr. Prosper Douglas Bani- as Minister Designate for the Interior, Hon. Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye (MP) as Minister Designate for Youth & Sports, John Alexander Ackon as Minister Designate for the Ashanti Region and Hon. Kweku Ricketts Hagan (MP) as Minister Designate for the Central Region.

Others include, Mavis Ama Frimpong as Minister Designate for the Eastern Region, Abdallah Abubakari- Minister Designate for the Northern Region and Hon. Albert Abongo (MP) as Minister Designate for the Upper East Region.

Andy Osei Okrah was nominated as Deputy Minister Designate for the Ashanti Region as well as Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem as Deputy Minister Designate for the Upper East Region.

The president however did appoint Hon. Franklin Fiavi Fifi Kwetey (MP) as Minister for Transport while Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna is the new Minister for Food & Agriculture - Hon. Mark Woyongo (MP) has meanwhile been reassigned to the Presidency as Minister of State.

In spite of shakeup in the Mahama-led administration to beef up his governance, Running mate to the NPP flagbearer for the 2016 general elections insists that although "reshuffles are normal”, what Ghanaians crave for currently, is a change in the unbridled hardships they are experiencing.

“Reshuffles are normal with all governments. However, with the record of the current government and the current state of the Ghanaian economy with its attendant hardships, what the people of Ghana desire is a reshuffling / change from amongst others”

“The hardships that afflict our people; the unprecedented joblessness affecting the Ghanaian youth; the astronomic increases in taxes, utility prices and fuel; the cancellation of teacher and nursing training allowances; the decline of agriculture and manufacturing and the unprecedented corruption under this government. The incompetent economic management of this government,” Dr Bawumia added.
